What's stopping you from doing your poly groups, uv editing and material assignment in your 3D software? No need to do this in the Maxwell Studio if you don't want to. Just use the plugins to call mxcl and start rendering. Like any other renderer out there......I don't understand what problems people see here. You get both.daros wrote:
You begin a two days workflow in Maxwell Studio by creating UV's and materials. You create about 100 different polygon groups.

I'm shocked about the quality of the current state, after so many times NL has says: next month Maxwell 1.0 final (!) is ready. And now we get a instable buggy RC. All RC I know from other companies was much more improoved. All was 99.9% ready to use.
But I think, this year we will not see a solid bug free prooved render engine ready to use for solid professional work. And next year? In the summer?
As I have buyed Maxwell, plugins was promised. I don't want export any little peace of geometry. OK, it is optional for special cases, but the main work should be at the current plugins.
Both? You will get only the studio and many unfinished plugins. At the moment, the Final Maxwell should be ready. But we have many broken pieces of software.Mihai Iliuta wrote:...What's stopping you from doing your poly groups, uv editing and material assignment in your 3D software? I know many users from the Rhino side that dosn't have a problem for a choice of a 3D modeling software. If you are working a long time with an application like Rhino, than you don't have this problem. The most Rhino user love Rhino. We need a good stable bugfree render engine!!! Not more. And we have payed for a plugin to Maxwell. Make it ready, now!snalbandia wrote:I like the idea of Studio, it frees us up to a choice of different 3d modeling software, provides a unified rendering environment. ...
