Keep working guys. When the GUI doesn't even have an undo with ctrl z you know there is a lot more work to be done.

well, i got that right, but doesn't do any difference actually. mxcl starts amd renders nothing, it just remains black. on the other hand rendering via maxwell studio seems impossible here, only the preview works.
really, i can't see how to use this rc.

edit:

that's what i'm getting also, a black window, a black preview in the mxcl and a black output, not bad.

No direct Cinema connection is making life with Maxwell very wasteful.

Ended up exporting a simple sphere from Cinema in Obj format. Imported into MaxwellStudio and massive scale issues arise. Even at a Cinema export of 1 the sphere overwhelms the Maxwell viewport.

The viewport graphics are sharp for me but the objects seem to be overwriting window text. I dragged and dropped a Maxwell material the best I could. The material browser is not providing a logical description of much at all - just meaningless (to me) letters and numbers.

The object itself looks very strange in the viewport - I assume objects should first be triangulated - another waste of valuable time. It looks as though Maxwell doesn't know which way its own triangulated normals should face in relation to the imported model?

Set up a maxwell cam with sky and sunlight, making sure this was the selected camera.

Chose Render and CRASH. Repeated this several times and each time CRASH.

Perhaps someone can please help?

Hi All

I managed to get a render out of the RC rendering it in max, not sure how to post an image on here, but then i'm not sure it's something you'll want to see, a complete mess!

scene setup
simple plain 3m x 3m, cube sat on top of plain, both have diffuse material on.

tired to render with sunlight and got a black render even though the sample levels were going up.

tried to render with physical sky and same again.

rendered with a 50mm plane and emitter material applied to it with no sunlight or physical sky and it rendered but looked completely crap.

try it and you'll see for yourselves, given up trying to use maxwell studio until help manual comes out.
