Sketchup has released 2026 version today. When may we expect a 2026 install version from Maxwell Render?

Hello!

Now that Maxwell for Cinema has been released, the plugin for SketchUp is the next one in the queue. We'll add compatibility for SketchUp 2026 and try to improve 2 or 3 things that we have on our list. Hopefully, it won't take a long time.

In any case, as I mentioned Mike in a support case, it is currently possible to make the plugin work on SketchUp 2026 just by copying the load_maxwell.rb file from C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2025\SketchUp\Plugins
into
C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\SketchUp\Plugins (if the Plugins folder doesn't exist, just create it manually), in the case of Windows.

On MacOS, you should copy it from
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2025/SketchUp/Plugins
into
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2026/SketchUp/Plugins

Best regards,
Fernando

You don’t need it. When launching SKP26 for the first time, you can transfer all the extensions from SKP25, including Maxwell, automatically. Worked without any problems.
I am stilt curious about the new version from NL with some alterations, as Fernando stated.

Is it possible to add the ability to directly import SKP files into Studio as currently we have to go through another software before importing into Studio, which is time consuming?

Thanks.
