Thanks Cugniet!

Thanks Aitraaz!

hehe you noticed it Whiskey :-) I will rotate them a bit Thanks!

Thanks Micha, it is ;-) a Maxwell photo hehe

Hi Oleg lets see what happens ;-) Thanks ;-)

Thanks Master Tom ;-)

Thanks Goncalo, most of my inspiration I find here ;-) with you guys!!

Hi Mihai, you are right I will cut those surfaces so that the buttons will sink in

Hi Thomas, I used a color map to get the text on the buttons, just one jpg for all buttons cut out of a surface using the outline of the button top surface
Here is the color map (25%of the real size) and a screenshot:

Also, it would be better if you can model 7-segment displays behind the front-panel instead of mapping them.

Thank you Nico,

Interesting and clean method. Clever how you are dealing with only one JPG instead of 100 small ones. Also this way you can change the symbols and fonts and it will update the whole thing. Very nice.
The only thing is, to watch and not shrink those button faces ;-)

I suppose you started with a large rectangular slab and worked on rendered viewport while cutting button faces out of it. Right ?

Nico / Thomas,

If a color map was used for the text....how is it possible that i'm seeing the text in the perspective viewport......am i missing something here that i don't know ,but should? TIA. .....chris.

thats becuase he is using "rendered display" for that viewport, which isnt working in the newset rhinoll plugin

Right.

However, if you have a texture aligning operation to do (as Nico had) then you can turn on the object properties box, select your surface and choose -->Material-->Basic--> insert your texture in the "Texture Map". The texture will now show in the rendered viewport.

Yes that is exactly what I did, this way the texture will remain even when you select a maxwell material after that, this way you will always have a little control
