Hi,

I'm trying to render interior scene with glass facade using real glass, not AGS, because it's needed to show the thickness of the glass at the sides, which is non-visible with AGS, while also adding background image in photoshop. Alpha map is okay (not opaque), but the sky layer embeds the light of the sky into the glass (sky is visible behind the glass), which washes out the background when using photoshop to add background image. Closest thing was IBL with background and refraction disabled while reflection and illumination set to active sky, but the light situation was not physically correct. I have searched through the forum history with no success. Thanks in advance.

What I was trying to achieve is that exterior glass is AGS while the glass partition wall is real glass to have the refractive (reflective?) edges. Without it, it just looks too fake (not really even visible) to be realistic glass (first image from the left).
The problem is that the background (Physical sky or IBL refraction channel) is always embedded to the glass (no transparency, second and third image) which makes photoshoping background quite useless. When using IBL background and refraction, the latter is off (third image) because one can't use screen mapping for that. It wouldn't be very post processing friendly solution anyways. I understand that with reflections and refraction the spherical IBL is essential but from architectural visualization's point of view it's almost never existing option for photo montage. As a workaround I used a reflective material for the glass panel sides (fourth image), though it was not a physically correct solution, it produced the similar effect. Any other suggestions?
