Hi all!

I have a pretty big large 5 floor building that I will do some exterior renderings of.
I need the interior to be lit, and I wonder what the best way would be? One large plane with an emitter material assigned on each floor, to be able to adjust it with ML?
My experience is that if I use many small planes with emitter material assigned for each floor, it seems like if the lightening energy isnt enough for the scene... even if I have the same numbers of planes on each floor, the lumens on each floor differs.

Best Regards Patrik

The light output can't differ, if it's the same in the emitter material for all your planes. Maybe something else is wrong? Post renders if you can.

But will this building have windows? Because it can look pretty good if you find or take photos of windows at night, turn them into MXI emitters and stick them on the window geometry. It can look great, sending out the "right" colored light onto your building and it will also render faster than 100 emitter planes in your floors.

Here is an example!
Each floor 1-4 are lit by 4 cubes on the exact same position on each floor, all the cubes are assigned with the same emitter material.
