Since a week, MR and MS open very slow; saving even just a single 2-poly plane takes always around 20 seconds. Anyone has noticed a similar effect? Is this due to some settings or preferences that become corrupted over time? All other software I have installed runs as usual.

We've never heard about a behavior like that. Could it just be a writing to disk performance issue?

Does it happen when saving to any drive on that computer (even to a pen drive)?

If the problem persists, you could open your User>Documents>Maxwell subfolder and remove all the .lyt, .stlay and .ini files there (or zip them if you want to preserve a copy). They correspond to Maxwell layout, Studio layout and preferences files. Without any of them, Maxwell will generate new ones from default, so you could check if the issue came on any preference on your previous configuration.

ok, I try removing those files. Can't be the SSD, because other softwares don't exhibit that behaviour. First, I thought it to be some quirk with the RLM license server, running on this very same computer...

you suggested the right thing: Trashing the files you suggested makes MR and MS as quick as if fresh out of the box ; )
