Dear all

I'm having problems rendering out an animation. It feels not very fluent, so I made a fast test:
https://vimeo.com/103813203
(using 25fps)

I thought it was because the frames were to sharp for such a strong movement, so I redid the test with motion blur:

It looks better but the motion blur seemes too strong.

Did you ever occur such a Problem with Maxwell? What was your solution?
Do you have to render out more frames?

I did have this problem before with other projects:

Thanks for any advice

If you're using after effects you can look into the (out of box) frame blending and or time remapping effect to see if that helps, also here are a couple of good plugins I've used before to deal with such issues when I don't necessarily want to (or don't have the time/resources to) render out to a higher frame rate:

Post Time Remapping:
Code: Select all

Post Motion Blur:
Code: Select all

* also to reduce the rendered motion blur you could try lowering your rotary shutter angle*

hope this helps : )

I'm using rhino+bongo for the export.
And the video was done in after effects.

I reexported it now with 30fps (instead of 25) and am using motion blur for the whole scene. It is a bit blurry maybe, but feels fluent now.
