Hi, I have some simple cabinets, parasolid originally, translated into modo, then into maxwell. Parts are all assigned the same material. But, some of the wood edges render darker. So I did a roughness pass and those polys somehow show a different roughness value. Since roughness is controlled via the material I can't conceive of how this could be? Unless it's somehow damages polys.

I find when working with parasolids in Modo it is good practice to first select all of the geometry in item mode ---> go to the list tab ----> find other maps & expand it - here you will see
a list of vert_normals - select all of these within the list and delete them! :D

Hey, good tip, I knew that a few years ago and forgot about it.

So, items in modo imported via the cad loader have a texture map, a subdivision weight map and under 'other maps' a normal map. I'm assuming I can delete all maps since I'm doing my own uv map anyway.
