By accident at the start of a project, a single texture got created on the c drive, noise.jpg. I copied it over to the network early on, but the path persists like a virus in my scenes. Selecting show texture path in studio will still show it even though it's not being used. I've spent ages hunting every material, every active texture box to find if I missed it. Pack and go doesn't fix it. Network renders wont work because it's 'not found'. I've reached the point where it seems simpler now to start the entire project over making sure that no temp files get written by maxwell to a local drive. I tried both pack and go and 'fix texture paths' which have no effect on this problem.

Thanks,

I know what you mean.
You could put an alternate dependencies path when sending to network, which holds that texture.
Not optimal, but it works.

Hi,

A texture got probably created by the modo plugin and was written to a default maxwell directory on the C drive. As opposed to the texture folder for that project on a network drive.

The first time I tried a network render it complained about the texture on a local drive. So, I copied it over and corrected the path in the materials that used it. But maxwell would not forget about the path. The c drive path became embedded in all the materials and would always show up on the 'show texture path' command. Along with the relocated one. Even though it was no longer in use.

In ALL of them? So all the materials in your scene where now looking for this texture? Even so, if you simply place that texture in the same folder as the MXS, network should find it automatically because it also looks there for textures.

Maybe this is a problem with the Modo plugin, if you have some clear steps, please post this in the Modo forum.
