Still it is impossible to work with version 3 of maxwell render, I wonder why it has not been communicated anything about it, the software does not have a good sbitilita for intensive use in particular via networkrender, I purchased this software and I demand that both stable with the V2, those who laugh at me behind the lost time? I have to render for a living, I'm stuck as I do? I bought a software and should work.

At least a list of known bugs for both versions and a changelist for 3.0.0.1 would be nice... to see which one of these two Betas can be considered to be more bug free...

I'm just starting with my testing of v3, so i can't say much at the moment. But what i already noticed is that still nothing has changed concerning the network rendering displaying wrong node statuses and the ability to add/remove a node...

I agree with you Moreschi, although I'd say it was a pain, not impossible (via c4d plug), I would stick with 2.7 for production until the 3.1 release fixes some things, hopefully soon. I have both installed (i.e. I never uninstalled 2.7)

I appreciate being able to try out 3's new features, but I am getting a distinctly sore RSI wrist from 3's interface niggles, so much clicking :x .. It wont be long till they fix things.

as a former beta tester for another render engine (HINT: they used to give me FREE licence for that!) I can tell you that the best way to refine a piece of software is to release it to the users - even if it may not be complete, and even if some of them will use it as demo for time being. Why? because the programmers are quite limited (no offence NL team) with the amount of scenes and models and materials and all that, compared to 1000's of users trying their stuff on the new version. I know that for the first couple of hours playing with v3 I could pinpoint at least 3 major bugs (reported of course, in the maya section) that make v3 not worthy (at least for me) right now. So you could have wait maybe half a year extra time before getting v3 (becuase NL could test it on and on) but instead NL gave us a chance to try it and they will fix those bugs fast and release a good version in a few days probably ...

Agree, and I also have asked for it... I would gladly do it for this software but the only difference would be that v3 or in future v4, they would delay its release in order to fix all the bugs the users would find... So in my mind v3 has not been released yet, and when it will I will buy it... Meanwhile I will be reporting for the bugs I find in v3 demo... It is all in our mind! Eheheheheheh

I totally love McNeels philosophy in terms of development. As a registered customer you get the chance to get a feel for the next release once it reaches Beta.

Beta licenses are time limited for a very short period that gets extended with the next beta release. You get to use the new stuff without any limitation except for possible bugs. Once you are used to what will come, it's pretty hard to resist an update. While the developers get to have the software thoroughly tested in real life, everyone gets the chance to get a "free" license while the software is still in beta.

Nobody is happy to pay for a product full of bugs. But if you get a free test ride in exchange for some beta bugs...

I totally agree with this!
Mc Neel has the best policy regarding Beta version and Official versions.
But now Next Limit has announced their own version of that!
This is really great because it will have effects on the user side and in the developper side.

User Side: the user will be able to choose between Testing new stuff, or Enjoying Stability free of Unexpected Issues.

On Next Limit Side: they will be not bombed all the time with complains about bugs, because there would be ever available an Official Release (that will not have the great new stuff but will be stable enough to work with)

See here: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... 35&t=41714

I really hope this will work as perfectly as McNeel´s Beta Policy!
