The old plugin also works in SU7.
(I am not sure if it is 100% compatible).

Hello Sheik

Nice to hear from you....

Thanks - I was able to install the plugin but it doesn't list .mxwl in my export options. Am I missing something?

How did you get it to export?

The current version of the plugin is not really compatible with SU7 - it might be possible to use it in certain situations but it will cause too many problems so I do not encourage you to do that.

The compatible version should be available soon, we just have a bit of a delay with getting the new SU SDk from SketchUp guys...

Dear Pavol

Thanks for posting! Its really very encouraging for us to hear from you when there are upgrades, etc. I'm sure you have tested it as well, but it seems to load fine, the main problem (so far) is that the "export" option doesn't appear anywhere in the menu.

Any (loose) idea when you might release a patch? That would be helpful for us.

Thanks!

It is nice to see you posting again Pavol. I was hoping that the silence had been due to the release of a new plugin for SU7.

I hope that the new API that they are discussing on Sketchucation allows for more flexiblility and tighter integration similar to the integration of Maxwell into programs like Rhino.

I would love to see the UV gizmo idea integrated into this next plugin release.

Tried it and for very simple things it works ok. Could export models and get results.
But:
1. no export with mxm coversion of materials, you get the plain SU material
2. bigger models crash on export
3. crash with dynamic compenents

I did no further tests as Pavol already explained the plugin is not yet compatible.

I would really like to set a material in SU to hide from GI. That way I can render glass much easier. Is that possible Pavol?
I find the current Plugin to work alright apart from a few bugs for example to switch render area on and off is cumbersome, you have to click twice.
(OSX latest version on a Macpro 8 core)

Why would some want to use the material panel when you have already all the materials in another window that just need proper naming to work with Maxwell by conversion. Maybe its an idea to forget about the material panel and find a better way to name all materials in SU. Maybe a plugin that list all SU materials and a selection of mxm material names so you just need exchange those names instead of copy pasting them going back and forth to the finder and double clicking each material.

ok thanks for explaining. actually I do copy the T[…]
