Hey ypnos,

Sorry I can't help you with the network rendering issue, but to post images use an online storage service (usually free) like www.imageshack.com and post your image there and it will give a set of different links for you to use in forums.

Ciao,

Currently you can't network render from the host app. You have to creat the MXS file and use the MXCL -d (console) to set up network rendering. There are a few posts around with detailed instructions so I won't repeat it here, just do a search.

As for the licenses, the way I understand it is that each license allows you to render on four cores, so with two licenses you should be able to render on eight single core machines. For that you do have to install M~R on all of them.

I have no idea how the license file works to restrict usage to those eight but that is the theory.

What platform are you on?

On XP you just type "mxcl -d" at the RUN prompt or dos prompt.

On Mac it is a little more complicated, but either way you can set up shortcuts to start the console, manager, and server modes of MXCL.

Post back if you can't find any more specific instructions.

Take a lool at this post going around now:

http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=21221

It has a tutorial.

I use it all the time. My workstation is not all that fast so I use one of our servers which has 4 Xeon cores to render even for test renders. I render with that server using net render from my workstation. It works really well.

Glad I could help.
