How is the work moving on for the new plugin for SU6 and do I need one or is the most recent one ok with SU6?

On PC skp2mxs 1.6 (latest) is working fine here.
You jus need to manually copy MaxellExport.dll and MaxwellExport.rb to the same SU6 folders as they are in SU5.

I think there is a problem on the Mac. Does anyone have it working?

Hi Sheik, thats good news. I was to busy to try even. I am sure if it works on a PC updating if nessecary on the mac should not be too difficult. I am on a intelmac.

Februari 14th the competition results will be exposed in Stockholm on the Asplund library so then I can post my SU/Maxwell drawings here. I feel really sad about a project I did for a government building I am not allowed to post. Those where interior perspectives with a lot of different lighting set ups and are my best renderings ever.

I am studying Modo at the moment and feel frustrated I can not render my models made there in Maxwell. Hope that is going to be worked out some day.

I don't really feel good about SU6 and Layout but need more time with both new apps. It does not seem to be the update I was looking for. Mostly SU is improved in typical small users features but the bigger offices who use SU a lot as well don't find the handling of larger files and hoped for better support for colors, materials, components and workgroup workflows. Layout is pretty useless, slow and no dimensioning and Layout looks very outdated to say the least. Templates provides are really silly, makes me wonder who is actually in charge of SU now and what their mission really is. Well, as said I need more time and I hope I will change my view on what has been done by the Google Sketchup team.

same comment... am not having the time to really make the move towards the SU6.. and might even have to reinstall the SU5 until i get my libraries to work...
Now my SU6 has installed over and SU5 mixes the new library/materials with SU6 ( am glad i backuped components and materials previously!!)

Number one issue with SU5 for big projects is speed, it is fast but could be improved... am not sure what layout is for when i'm doing big projects and mostly 2D cad like autocad etc...

Layout from Sketchup is not for big projects, my collegue told me that updating views in Layout and having them sketched in styles is taking forever. SU 6 seems to be ok but crashes now and then.
SU 5 would be fine for now as well, no big workflow improvements or speeddifferences in 6.

The competition
feb 8th the results would be announced from what I understand now.
Had no time to fly to Stockholm and see the exhibit. Although I did not see any submissions looking like the winners I am not counting me in. I had a good concept but without much architectural punch to keep it going till the last jury rounds. Have you seen the procedure for the lib in Prague. Download the pdf file if you had not seen it already.

I think the jury in Stockholm probably followed this strategy as well. I would not be surprised if they put a few more than 5 in the second stage. I hope you win, I can wait to see your project till after the second round ...lol. My colleque already told me not to post our drawings till after the second round ....lol.
