Lars, hi again, hehe and thanks! thanks alot but this model ain't finished, first of all i'm doing the front part of the head, where the face and all facial details are located. When all that's done then i'm moving on to the sides and taking care of the ears and the neck and the rest of the stuff and last but not least the back of his head will be done so that's the main reason why there's so little detail in and around the ears. It'll all be taken care of in time, no worries

this is just one of those inbetween renderings to get a sense of the "weight" of the model.
And i'm gonna say now that organic modeling is not more difficult than architectual modeling and product viz stuff. It's all equally difficult, and it's as difficult as one makes it to be..
This relativly simpel model is nothing compared to what the masters at the Zbrush forum and CGTalk can do, their work serve as my inspiration now to get better at organic modeling.
Clayrenders are clear and noisefree, that's the fun part with those. But this latest testrender wasn't that clear after almost 10 hours

and the only light i use is one single hdri. Perhaps the high resolution has something to do with that...
[Edit] : I decided to drop this modeling project, it made no sense at all and it would in the end never look as i wanted it to look as i'm currently lacking the skills needed to ever get it to look photoreal. Project ditched from now. Sorry but thanks for all your comments.
Anyways, i babbled enough now.. sorry
