When I export from SU I get failures to render since the jpg or png can not be found. I don't understand.
Are the textures part of the .mxm files or ae they seperatly stored somewhere else for me to locate them by the dialog boxes that appear.

Maybe I did not download the textures properly or the .mxm files don't work under OSX.

Frustrating....

you can changed it with "mexd"

1) Click on the texture buton for each section
2) click load
3) follow de white rabbit
4) save the new texture

thanks but I have no idea what you mean to say.
What is mexd
where in Sketchup you like me to lick on a texture button.

I think you are on a PC and I am on a Mac.
Somehow I can assign mxm materials on faces but the jpg or png file is missing as soon as the rendering starts and so it fails to render.

Hope someone can tell me how to apply the appropriate image files to the mxm textures. They seem to get lost in the process.

Thanks Willperso, I am sure you mean ok but I need very exact info otherwise I won't figure it out.

read that back, funny of course, I mean to say 'click' on a texture button. Its getting late and Maxwell is keeping me up too many times.

something else, what does the Maxwell material editor do in SU. Its shows up under the plugins under Maxwell but when clicked it does nothing.

ok, thanks a lot, I can see everybody is trying to help out.
I will put in some time later. I have a feeling OSX is not yet up to date with all functionality Maxwell and SU plugins provide for Windows.

What I understand now is that with the Maxwell material editor you have to load the images for wood textures atc yourself. As they are povided by NextLimit they are not complete yet and have to be uploaded with jpg or png's. That is quit a bit of extra work to handle incase one had expected some decent sample textures to get started with. Well, thats how it is I suppose.

Thanks again and without this forum I would have no clue what to do with Maxwell.

I am sorry but I actually misplaced the textures fore some reason, I found the textures that came with the original download and shall try again. Sorry, my mistake, will look better next time I get frustrated.

Have not tried anything yet now I found the textures.

Got the textures in place and got a bit more familiar with the setup in Studio and the Material editor. Still, the render keeps failing since the bitmap can not be found. This is what I get in Sketchup when I assign a Maxwell material that includes a bitmap:
/Applications/Maxwell 1.0/materials database/mxm files/ateam special/oneshot/wood-a.mxm
was selected as MXM material.

And then this is what I get when I startup Maxwell:
Checking Data...
>> Loading Bitmaps & Preprocessing Data...
>> Error: Bitmap File not found ( C:/Program Files/Next Limit/Maxwell/Mat col/ATeam/wood-a/INTW_color.jpg )
>> Render Failed.

Looks like Maxwell is misguided as far as finding the bitmap. Anyone got a clue.

and just another observation, is the group of users and or enthousiasts still working and testing Maxwell in combination with SU getting smaller and smaller?
I don't see so many rendered results anymore out of SU.

i think it isn't a lack of users, fv, i think it is more that there are less and less problems using maxwell and rendering and therefore less people trying to find stuff out and post ?'s.

Got the textures with bitmaps working but only if the scene is saved from Studio. Straight from Sketchup bitmaps cause renderings to fail.

Dizzlewizzle, I sure hope you are right and Maxwell is without problems by now for most other users. Love to be one of those users sooner better than later.
