I suggest you all not to forget extra bleeding space while calculating pixel resolution if you're preparing the job for press. Eg. 3 mm for each trim side. ;)

Tom, in the picture you posted in the announcement section (lightbox glass bottle), do you have only one light ? I'm looking at these caustics on the top of the lightbox, do there come from the intense caustics of the bottom ?
err, hope you undestand :?

Hmm. I'm at page 5 of this thread and it seems to me that not much concrete has really been said...
Please, Victor, do give Mike and the others a little more freedom to speak.
Thanks

i'm sometimes printing A0 size images that are at 72 dpi with great success (sizes are in the 5000 pixel range)
We also need to remember A4 is seen from much closer than a A0 > explains often the need for higher DPI for the A4 ( or for magazines ) ( when printed of course.

I'm just another user and not NL crew but I think Maxwell will not work with 2-point perspectives nor orthogonal views.
It's just not possible as it's not possible with a camera on real world. That's the simple Maxwell's phillosophy: expect real-life realism AND limitations. 8)
You can make some hand-made correction with photoshop or similar software.
Actually, there is a type of camera that professional photographers use for architectural purposes because it can create a two point perspective.
Don't know what it is called, but it would be nice if NL could recreate it electronically :-)

Hey guys -

Yes, indeed I did need some sleep. But also: I'm testing, dammit! :)

One thing that's weird about the testing is that we, like most of you, tend to "think" in terms of 1.0: we want every last thing to be working, and working right now. But it's only RC5, so it's not gonna be that, so it's tough trying to determine how "done" is "done" when "done" is really only "partially done" to begin with. Did you follow that? Anyway, we spend a lot of time discussing priorities. ;) But in the meantime, I'm having fun trying to come up with cool materials in anticipation of needs.
