Gracias Senor.

Well, let's not give me too much credit.

I just typed up a post and said, "pretty please can we put this out?" and like, 3 minutes later it was up. Everyone agreed it was time! Plus, there's actually a lot of positive stuff to talk about, and it's a new year... good to get it off to a good start.
One other thing - I was braced (I bet we all were) for an absolute sh*tstorm, no matter what I posted, and I pretty much was ready to take a thorough smackdown, but you guys have stepped up and done exactly what you said you would. You said you just wanted info, and it would help. You got it, and you're right, the entire tone on this board was different today than it's been in a long time. That's goodwill on both sides like we've not seen for awhile. It's all good.
Anyway, you're welcome!
_Mike
Mike, told you so this afternoon
""However there is a better way to change the atmosphere on the forum. Why don't you, Tom, Thomas An. and the other members of the A-team post some tidbits about the upcoming RC5.Things like: what's in it featurewise, how is the progress, is the light distribution problem solved, are the 'fireflies' all caught etc. Just some info would make people happy and change the tone of the discussions. If there's nothing new, only the last negative experience keeps on people's mind. So enlighten us, you Darth Bleh "
We are just a bunch of believers who's god fell silent. Anything from the horse mouth (sorry Mike) and we're happy again.
No seriously, NL got too afraid for it's own forum. I'm quite new here, but not on forum moderation and I can assure you that communication and honesty are key. You struck the right tone and I think you should be in charge of forum PR until 1.0.
Maybe it's Spanish, maybe it's a problem with the language, but sofar we only got wildly enthousiastic promises without substance. You provide the requested 'tidbits', a realistic approach and a more or less independant point of view and that's all people needed.
