Hi,
just got back doing a renderjob. Been trying all day to get a small file rendered out of Sketchup, regretfully without much luck:

1. On export the resolution settings that I filled in the camera box are lost.
2. When I change the location and the North direction flipped or mirrrored components in my model are dislocated or rotated as well. I have to copy the model in a new file and then it works again as long as I keep the location/north unchanged and unrotated. I am in Holland and can only render the default location in the US if I want to keep my model in tact.
3. working from Studio is best and change the location and sun in Studio. Actually, I consider the export to render from SU as not functional at the moment.
4. This job in hours is about 3 hours modeling, 5 hours export to Maxwell render. I could have saved myself a lot of time exporting to Studio at once. The 5 hours is just to find out the bug is triggered by changing the location and/or North direction in SU.
MacPro, 8 core 4Gb.
Hope someone has some workarounds.

Any help is very apreciated. Are there any users here that use SU-Maxwell frequently ? They must experience this as well.

I see the model I am working on always imports into Studio as located in Kabul Afghanistan. Relocating gives me unpredictable results for the sunposition.

This is the message I get when I export a SU model along with the mxs file:
- Exporting: /Users/francois/Desktop/806rab-model 101.mxs.log
Maxwell: Method Parameters, Error: sampling -

As originally posted, mirrored objects are dislocated on import in Studio or Maxwellrender. To keep them in the right position I now keep the location and northposition as it is in a new SU file and work from there.

Don't look at the cities list in Studio, that's just the first city in the list but it doesnt' mean the location has been set to that. Check instead the globe and lat/long to see where the location is.

The problems of wrong position/orientation of groups/components were fixed - some of them were fixed in plugin, some of them in Studio. Both plugin and Studio updates should be released within a few days.

BTW - based on your description you are most likely not using the latest version of the plugin - both resolution settings and sampling issue (reported in the log file) were fixed in plugin version 2.1a - that update is available for some time already...

You can always check the version if the Maxwell plugin in SketchUp menu - go to Plugins/Maxwell Export/About Maxwell Export and you will get a dialog with the version information.
