i simply created a basic maxwell see object and applied a simple ocean texture to it and the speed of the waves is ridiculously fast. how can i control the speed of the waves?

Having the same problem, and wind speed didnt fix it.
Maybe another internal problem with speed multiplayer.
Coz in Sofimgae XSI this plugin working ridiculous fast.
There are some plugins with same functionality like aaOcean and Wave they work pretty well to fluid slow and gently.
Maybe some tutorials or simple screencast to see dependencies

Which plugin are you using?

It may be a common issue with MaxwellSea and all plugins, we are looking into it.
