Hi all,
I have just invested in a fast server ( Dell Powervault 600 + SAS disks) with GB ethernet everywhere... and since we are using two licenses of MR, and considering getting two others, i want to be sure to set the network system ready for network rendering.
I have RTFM :)

What i want to achieve:
Store every single library, shall it be SU or MR textures and mxm's on the network, and do the computing from the network ( data) and send the result back onto the network.

Question: Exporting the .mxs to be computed: what settings shall i choose ( aka: path for textures? and also where should i save the .mxs? Will the network render process use the exported texture folder that comes with the MXS....?

Question: after starting the server on both machines, and manager on one, i am launching MR and load the mxs in the network section.
What folders should i indicate for
MXI output?
JPG output?
Bitmap Defaut path?

Where is the other server going to load the textures from? where is it going to write the MXI??? Can i decide where to have those MXI written on each server etc...?

Is there anyone with a good tutorial too ;)

thnx

Nils

still have some questions

solutions: network rendering works!
1. save mxs from SU on the network folder
2 add job from that file and in the options: also indicate that the MXI is going to be saved on that location on the network ( otherwise will not work ( auto merge). ( other paths on that window also on that network for me)

Question: multilight is not available in the merged MXI, despite the fact that its been asked for in the SU export menu... When loading the merged MXI, the multilight is just turned off...

thnx for hints!
