We'll post larger ones in the following days. 8)
Actual ones are enough to display the technical differences I think ;)

There may be some minor issues you've noticed and know that this is still pre-release. ;)

I heard adehus and I decide to answer with renders, not the words.

Sounds promising... :)

Well, the left glass clearly has some internal refraction (BTW: It's internal *refraction*, not internal *reflection*.).

Note the bright reflexes at the glass bottom, which are clearly due to this.

An unevitable problem with internal refraction is that the rays are trapped quite a couple of times inside the body, so often the ray depth isn't deep enough. Therefore you often get dark reflexes in such bodies like here in this image.
To discuss these kind of issues I would recommend to compare Mawell renders with some other standard render engines like Cinema or Maya, which are quite good when it comes to dielectrics.

no, it's internal reflection internal refraction is a non-sense

I agree its internal reflection (Cinema's Banji shader has this option), not refraction but whatever its called the overall improvements shown so far look promising.

Man, if you don't find a post like this right away you end up on page 9. Jeez. The improvements look great. My request, I want to know how to texture the cups like they did. I have cups in real life that are like that but I don't know how to recreate it.
