Well, the left glass clearly has some internal refraction (BTW: It's internal *refraction*, not internal *reflection*.).
Note the bright reflexes at the glass bottom, which are clearly due to this.
An unevitable problem with internal refraction is that the rays are trapped quite a couple of times inside the body, so often the ray depth isn't deep enough. Therefore you often get dark reflexes in such bodies like here in this image.
To discuss these kind of issues I would recommend to compare Mawell renders with some other standard render engines like Cinema or Maya, which are quite good when it comes to dielectrics.
