Just casting a vote, I would also like to have 201 support for MW. Although I understand they're quite busy with the release in Dec. and 201 isn't out yet, but a 1.x update to support other formats would be a great hope for us Modo users.

Yes! would very much like a modo file import in the future, right now though just glad it has .lwo import capabilities.

LWO is lightwave file, i would still like to see them support Modo 201 file format in the future(animation future :D )

Modo 201 = .LXO (plus can import export lwo)

Actually, modo 201 won't be able to export as LWO. It will be able to save as LWO. If you open (note: open; not import), for example, an OBJ file in modo, and save it, it will still be an OBJ file. If you open an LWO file in modo 201 and save it, it will still be an LWO file, most likely. Chances are you'll lose the texturing, since LWOs might not support them, but Maxwell won't support modo 201's shader tree anyway, so I fail to see how that matters. The LWO might still have the material names saved.

wow so many modo users. dont forget Modo 201 will have its on "physically base shading" options.
As far as I've seen, modo 201's renderer is great, but it isn't quite as accurate as Maxwell, most likely. Probably faster, though. ;) Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing a 201 plugin for Maxwell. The more applications supported, the better! :)

I also vote for a Modo plugin for Maxwell ... as Modo user, with it and maxwell studio you could have a complete 3D rendering package, with fast less accurate render inside modo, and with more accurate Maxwell outside it.

Anyway i think that could be complicated, because Modo has not SDK yet, and you must program plugin as script, so i am not sure you could make it now ... i am going to see if it is posible, anyway ....

I have seen now some exporters for modo written in perl, so yes, it is posible ... perhaps i could program it mysefl in near future, when new Maxwell SDK arrives :D But I do not promise anything :) :) :)
