I have been reading this forum for a while but have yet to post any images of mine so here goes...

The yellow mclaren I modeled in xsi 2 years ago and rendered in maxwell, (no photoshop retouching) . took 8 hour on a dual xeon 3.06, 2 gig ddr2 ram nvidea quadro card. A bowl shaped environment and a large star shaped emitter object over the car was used. (19 samples)

Black mclaren took 4 hours with physical sky and sun. (20 samples)

Both renders are absolutely amazing!! But Im in love with the black one... Seems like wild sporty cars look better when on the outside, taking some sunshine!

EDIT: I know its supposed to be super shinny crome, but some uv roughness on those wheels would be great!

Great render. Try to add some thickness to the glass. Now looks like a solid glass block (refracts too much).

Really nice renders - the black one is great. For some reason the yellow one looks more like a toy car (might be the environment). Jan is right about the glass.

Black one is better. The yellow is kinda funny, and the lights are completly black. the reflections too bright(can`t see the color under them)

Pretty looking cars there, wish i owned one of those.. or two.. or three
However, u have a problem with the rims (think that's the proper name of them) they're too polished clean and shiny looking, try making them more dull and matte but still metal and i'm sure u get a more authentic look

Great job!
I think the yellow car need a more complex set of lights, like some spots around it, cause the tellow looks so solid, nothing to reflect.
The rims are too polished indeed.
The black car is amazing!
But, with a little (some more hours) more time you'll get a stronger reflection in the glasses, im both cars.

it seems in maxwell you need to model more like in real life as well. I will add volume to the glass ( as in a back side as its only a single face right now) and change the emitter objects to a siries of smaller disks to emulate show car environment. updates coming soon.
