Hi guys- thought I would chime in here :). I agree with Tom about the metal surfaces needing bump maps to help create a realistic metal surface (I learned this from Mihai and his online courses)....... usually- but in this case I think that Phil nailed it. The reason being is that those metal parts on a Fender Strat are always chrome plated and seem kind of shiny, metal, plasticy (I know this is not a word :)). At least for me and my aging memory those metal parts really look like they should.... minus some finger grease :).

beautiful phil! just my opinion, but the lighter wood seems a tad too saturated. don't know the name of that wood cut, but feels like it should be somewhat lighter with a tad less contrast... not much , just a hair or two

Thanks Nico and Sampson.
Rusteberg, I agree, I also need to reduce the bump and
add a smoother, glossier finish to the lighter wood.

Thanks Big K and Brian for the info on "scattering in simulense". It pays
to follow the Work in Progress forum. First photo is the Scattering default.
Second is Scattering OFF and set to ZERO...

So, is this a known issue?
