Are you going for the look of the toy you have or the full dirty movie version of Wall-E when finished?

Hi David,

At first it will be a very clean version, after that I will see what to do, I'm not really a texture guru, and I would hate to ruin realism by making some really bad dirt textures, but I'll try for sure :!:

You have a great eye for detail, so I'm sure you won't have a problem!

If you do struggle, you could alway get tips from the dirty texture master, Maximus!

 thanks for your kind words D7. There's a couple of tips i can give you already Nico, grab a copy of Moi3D and one of 3D-Coat and use Moi to export your SW model as a mesh with quads, then you use 3D-Coat to paint dirtmaps and general wear and tear on the quadmesh you exported so nicely from Moi. In 3DC you can easily build a new topology ontop of your Wall-e model or you can use 3Dc's auto-UV feature and instantly start texturing it. These are both great tools and workflows for any serious textureartist out there who wanna have filthy & dirty models. :)

I have to say, great update also on your model. The details are stunning already and i know they will be even better. Keep going! :)

Anytime Nico, err.. Curt i meant. Sorry :) but 3D-Coat and Moi3D are two different applications. Moi is great for nurbsmodeling as you probably know by now and 3D-Coat does the rest such as UV, texturing, retopology and more. If you haven't got 3D-Coat already you should buy that too. It should come in handy for your future work beyond this one aswell.
