is there a way to have normal fluid meshes create splashes with realwave surfaces ??

i tried now for some time, but without any luck (neither rw_splash nor rw_particle).

if the hit force is just a little too strong, the whole realwave object emits new particles like a H-Bomb !

has anyone a hint for this ?

by the way... is there no more official realflow forum running ?

Hi Deadalvs,

Nice to see some Maxwell users are using RF as well!
There is no official RealFlow forum anymore, but we have a close collaboration with www.realflowforum.com . It's an unofficial forum, but it's very good and active... I'm sure they'll be able to help you there!

Cheers,

Nicole

Have you also been waching this movie?? :

About Realflow.. i'm playing around a bit with it now to see if i can learn it or atleast parts of it. What i'm curious about is if you can tell the liquid to run for X amount of frames only and then it stops emitting fluid, how ?

And another this i wanna do is have objects being moved around by the liquid, like icecubes in a glass, when i pour the liquid in the icecubes should be tossed around by the turbulence within the glass, is that possible to do and if so how ?

cause of the number of particles you choose?....I hope I understand your question.

Yes sure, thats possible. You have to give the icecubes some dynamics.

Noo.. i only want it to emit fluid for say 50 frames in a 100 frame animation and then it should stop emitting fluid. The fluid should then move on it's own for the remaining 50 frames of the total animation. Is that any easier to understand ? heh..

simple.. make "keys" for the emision (active/inactive).. from frames 50 to 100.. (graph editor) (Right mouse on the word "emission" >> open curve..

the keyframes you need
0>>49>>50>>99>>100

*active
*inactive

btw, set the value to "0" for inactive and "1" for active
voila..

hope this helps..

Ah Ok,...so do a simple keyframe animation. So control the emission of the emitter with the speed-settings for example....if you select 0...the emitting will stop.

Thanks both of you guys, you're very helpful :) i almost got it now, but not quite.. when i keyframed the emitters on/off value it emitts particles from frame 0 to 25 but then the particles stops moving and remain frozen for the rest of the animation. I expected them to continue moving after the emitter stopped emitting them at frame 25 but apparently not.

Please you need to start with the tutorials! They explain everything and start out basic and expand. They are very helpful! When you go through a couple of these, you will see that these things you ask about are very basic and easy to achieve.

I'm very sorry Bubba, it was stupid of me to ask for help here. I won't do it again, i also wanna apologize for my stupid mistake.

Sorry!

Don't be rediculous!
Believe it or not, my post was meant to help. I think you took it the wrong way, like a RTFM post.
Not so.
I'm just saying that I learned all of these things you are asking about from the tutorials relatively quickly.
