Actually not true.
Vray, Brazil, Mental Ray ARE infact physically accurate renderers. By physically accurate I mean, the light measuring, path tracing of gi rays are accurate and are based on realworld formulas much like maxwell. However the difference comes in with two things:
1 - the use biasing for gi, therefore gi precision is not entirely correct. (however the calculation of the global illumination transport is correct)
2 - shader models are using old phong/blinn/ward models, which are not entirely physically accurate, like maxwell's or fryrender's
But on all other aspects, they also employ camera exposure and full float values, so this makes them on par with maxwell.
