i used Brazil from the Ghost release and a lot Vray too after.
What i can say, is really simple, the Brazil light doesn t feel the same like Vray. Just take the time to see the different between them.
Vray and Brazil are really similary in their complexity of deployment for a Maxwellian Brother, but when you take an eye in it, maybe 30 hours, you will be free to do what you want !
It the only difference with Maxwell or any Unbiased render engine. Vray and Brazil, like MR and all other biased RE are free from the Physics law !

Have a good Vray/Brazil time.

Oops, maybe the dev team of brazil is really amazing too... :D

Thanks for the comments tanguy. If I was looking for a renderer that was fairly easy to learn, and easy to use, and If I do not have any high demands when it comes to photorealisticness.. What would you recommend (that fits with Rhino) ?

Actually not true.
Vray, Brazil, Mental Ray ARE infact physically accurate renderers. By physically accurate I mean, the light measuring, path tracing of gi rays are accurate and are based on realworld formulas much like maxwell. However the difference comes in with two things:

1 - the use biasing for gi, therefore gi precision is not entirely correct. (however the calculation of the global illumination transport is correct)

2 - shader models are using old phong/blinn/ward models, which are not entirely physically accurate, like maxwell's or fryrender's

But on all other aspects, they also employ camera exposure and full float values, so this makes them on par with maxwell.

ok thanks for explaining. actually I do copy the T[…]
