It's very interesting that with only 1 emitter there seems to be 2 shadows: there's a soft shadow extending to the right of the objects, caused by the TV illumination; but there's also seemingly a very hard shadow extending the left, noticable behind the TV and the rightmost pole. Something doesn't jive.

A clip map will work as well.

Convert an image to negative and then to 1bit:

The Maxwell result beloow is a back lit display

Not sure about this, but, Hervé, you remember that reflection map channel in diffuse material is the same as Lightwave's diffuse channel. In LW, if you use diffuse value over 100%, your objects seem to glow (only if there is some light source). So, I think that with some tweaking, we can have a Maxwell object scattering more light than it receive (kink of negative absorbtion). Maybe that's with a solid white map, and / or using reflection value as a multiplier...
but my tests so far are unconclusive.

to make things easier for you hdesbois, i have to say that..it's not about overscattering, nor glow... :D

thomas,
you all know i compiled some frames in a GIF file,
do don't be curious about 256 color dithering,
i mean it's not a cue about clipmapping and as i say no clips there ;)
