Here is what happens. You install carbonite normally in win64, then copy a shortcut for windows explorer (system menu), and paste in the above into the shortcut for explore. Then, that one shortcut will function like all explorers do in win32, showing the littel dots etc for carbonite and allowing you to select files.

You might be interested to know that I did find a workaround for [64-bit WIndows XP]. It's very simple (doesn't involve any hacks of anything) and even a novice could use the technique in my opinion. The following target location works as well and points to My Computer showing a listings of hard disks.
Target: %windir%\syswow64\explorer.exe /separate, ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
Start in: %windir%\syswow64
