imagine.
You see in a finished rendering that only one material looks bad and You would want to re-render all the regions where this specific material is seen, with a different material.
or You reach a certain SL with which You're happy, but only one material is still noisy. like this, the rendering could be aborted, the material selected and using the whole cpu power concentrating on this region only.
this would also be very simple to implement... ! just an «updated» region render !
[ i know, it would be a problem for color bleeding when replacing a red material to a green one, but that is a small disadvantage! ]
