Well, in a way it is available:
The old plugin works fine with the new Studio afaik.
NL also had to support R10, and at some point you have to choose.
I said literally years ago, that sticking with 8.5 is quite an limitation when it
comes to support an external renderer. They are not crowded with people
doing the Cinema plugin - and compared with the Maya plugin it's still a bit
basic.
If they would stick with 8.5, a lot of development capacity would have been
wasted to write code for the bin. Nobody likes to do that.

Dude, do you consider that an option? I wouldn´t use Maxwell Studio if it were the last software on earth.
All of my scenes contains literally thousands of objects, of which some of them needs to be in uneditable-mode for tweaking. If i were to use Studio for any of those scenes, i would increase the time it takes to complete the scenes by a factor of 20.
And don´t forget to add the collapsed hierarchy you get when importing a C4D scene into Studio...
I realize i can´t use 8.5 forever, but this is still only an 1x upgrade and apparently not such a good one at that.
This plug should´ve been working properly years ago, so don´t say they haven´t had more than enough time for developing one that should work for everyone.
