Hi,

Patrik - no worries, it's just funny to see how fast things go around here :D

Wagurto - Yes, MXS scenes and the complete materials library will be compatible with version 1.5

Like I said in the announcement, next week I'll be informing you about the new licensing policy and I will have a more detailed features list for you (with new things).

Thanks!

Yes. It does sound great that the engine has been rewritten. The only thing that I was looking for, which unfortunatelly wasn't mentioned in the newsletter, is the phrase "Speed improvements". But nevertheless I'm looking forward to the new version.

Assuming that the new release will be solid without important bugs, I believe that it should be named 1.5, what we read is not a minor upgrade and, please, stop complaining about getting closer to 2.0, I think we all have 1.0 and 1.1 almost a year so it is not unusual.
Imagine other companies like Autodesk for example who's software is far more expensive, we have upgrades every year and the subscription is at least 600€
From what I read, 1.5 will be 100% improved. GUI, core engine, plugins, MXED, STUDIO, etc....
So, it deserves to be called 1.5

BRAVO!!!

The feature list has been extended and improved, including more and more innovative features, and new plug-ins.
The "List" has been extended and improved, she said nothing about the features themselves :P

Looking forward to the Linux version!

V2 is supposed to have the RS2 engine in it which we haven't heard anything about since the RC's were declared a failure. NL wanted to get the RS1 engine fully up and running before they started thinking about RS2 from what I remember so V2 is a long way away.

I'm glad to see an official announcement with definite dates attached to it, I for one am excited about the news and I hope that most of the bugs have been dealt with along with speed improvements and features that need to be added.

...so let's wait and see  i hope you are right!

displacement? shift lens? procedurals? ies? volumetric shaders? improved sky system?...
this all should have been already implemented in v1.0 - as announced long long time ago in good old alpha/beta times ...should be worth a 1.5 :D

What a little annoucement can make us happy. It says almost nothing, just it will be great, but NL said it everytime before. So I hope and believe, this update will be really great. I am looking for it very impatiently. :)

I strongly hope for new Cinema 4D plug-in...
