...sure sure, ...it's nice work, ..the next frontier of Maxwell is clearly in the kitchen. ...but the question is , "Can I afford to eat in your restaurant ?" ...it's looking 5 starish.

Hervä, Hervã, Hervå, no....Hervé! Very nice texture and model. But one question, if you just photo the texture you get the reflections in there as well. Or have you prepared a pure color texture and added a reflection map to the material?

Thanks for the sweet words... Mihai, in fact it all depend.. if I use the scanner of photograph it.. in the last case I can get some reflections, I try to avoid them by photogrphing in my north room, with a reflector to counter-balance the light coming from outside, if they are still some, I brush them away.. with the scanner, I get tiny reflections sometimes, but overall, I try to flatten the food, this is why I am doing right now a flat brioche the size of mt oven, much better results than taking a brioche in photo, same for creams and toppings, no way to photograph, so a thick coat directly on the scanner window does wonder...(second scanner, the first one had a leak... hehe) ... then I do a ref map, exactly.. with food you have to have a ref map.. but also I output a nice normal map from Mudbox... it is sometimes challenging, but with the time I developped some good PS techniques.. , but again the croissant was the first "viennoiserie".., other products are already made, but I don't want to show you all now.. eheh.. (Hervé marketing crazy..)

bon appétit...

Herve,

Do I see a little distortion on the uvw-mapping in the downright corner of the croissant? It looks like a bit of texture is wrong unwrapped there. It looks flipped to me. I could be mistaken cuz I don't see croissants everyday, but I thought I should point it out anyway.

its a really good initiative, hope you'll make the according plates that goes along with the food, always found there was a lack of food models to populates tables to render :D

yes Thomas.. Viennoiseris in a basket, ready lunch on plate with meat, vegetables, sauce... everything.. fishes... feuilletés... etc

I will provide an exact list soon.

Thanks for your feedback Olivier and Thomas..

I plan a little competition before the launch, I'll provide a model, and the best render wins a free dvd..

I forgot to say that Displacement maps will be included for when Maxwell gets his Displacement feature.. :)
