Here are two small bubble simulation attempts, just for fun.
Static Bubble (click image to download)

Rendered @ 300 x 300 up to SL15 in 14 min per frame on Pentium D820 (50 frames total)
Chaotic Heavy Bubble (click image to download)

Rendered @ 256 x 256 up to SL14 in 9 min per frame on Pentium4 2.8HT (50 frames total)
Bubble on the Street(click image to download)

Rendered @ 512 x 512 up to SL14 in 35 min per frame on Pentium4 2.8HT (50 frames total)
Below is the material I've used for the bubble.

For turbulance simulation in chaotic bubble, I scrolled thicknessmap texture UV.
The animations require latest version of Quicktime player.
Don't forget to loop the animations while viewing
