Cooperative rendering was never supposed to be anything magical it's simply a way to speed up the process. For those of us with many licenses it will finally allow us to put them to good use. I will say though that is shouldn’t take 9 CPU's to render a print resolution image out over night. I'm hopeful that cooperative rendering can be used in an real time type of application where if you have access to 10 or 20 CPU's you will be able to send a 800x600 sized image out to the farm and within a minute or two get back a noise free image with all the caustics and SSS.

I hope that NL will be generous with the number of render nodes we can use with a single license ... after the long time waiting it could be a good news for all, and a good compensantion ;)

No email here. The NL email system is hit and miss.

No email here either :P But the coop rendering is great news......this together with the interactive lighting feature has just made Maxwell more than usable.

All we need now are 9 computers

a minute or two for caustics and SSS?
i can hardly believe it, even with 20 cpu's (at least not in this decade)
but i hope i'm wrong, of course...

It seems to me that to most of us, who has "only" one liscense, this feature won´t be any good at this time.

Still, it is a progress, and the light feature that is really great.

Btw, haven´t got no NL email neither... That is no news....

This means that with the new cooperative rendering, time barriers are broken and are no longer an issue. The more machines you use, the faster and the more accurate the results.
I think they should try "the new cooperative developing" to break not everytime their self set time barriers ;)

funny that existing beta-(and non existing RC5)-features are now an exciting development... are you are sure that this mail is not from 2005?

[edit] havent got an email either...

Mmmh, until now I always got NL's emails... this one isn't there... :(
BTW: Mails from NL are filtered out before the spam filter even kicks in...

Anyway... a release of RC6 at Spanish midnight would appreciated nonetheless...

P.S.: Why don't you release the MXM fix of the Mac plugin at least? I *know* it's ready.

You can render with 4 CPU's with one license, so it's certainly useful even if you only have 1 license.

Well I guess my Quad G5 eats up all 4 CPUs of my license so I have no scope for network rendering. If NL's "solution" to the speed problem is simply to throw as many CPU's at it as possible, then I'm not very impressed. Not all of us can afford to build render-farms and buy multiple licenses.

I hope the gift that has been mentioned is a free license ( we deserve it for sure ). Then I could make use of the co-op rendering.

I too have not recieved any email.
