Small update, displacement, texture rotation and increased bump level.

Any more C&C? There's something missing from the scene that I can't quite place my finger on. Any suggestions?

macray, the green things are from a texture map.

Each pillar has the following materials applied using Studio, modeling & UV mapping was done in Blender 3D and exported as a .OBJ file.

Layer 1 with weight map, bsdf stone texture with matching bump.
Layer 2 with inverted weight map, bsdf green lichen texture with matching bump map.
Layer 3 with unique weight map, bsdf home made bird lime texture with matching bump map.

How to do the same with C4D? I don't know, I'd use Studio for this kind of texture manipulation.
However if you apply a plastic material inside C4D add a colour map and export this to studio, you can then delete the material that's imported and then build your own.

The key thing is the weight maps. I spent a couple of hours the other day, making lots of weight maps from Blender's procedural textures. Create an inverted version to use on other bsdf layers in Studio.

Hope this helps, if not I'll be happy to write a short tutorial for you.

Cheers Oliver. :D

Many thanks,

Tim.

Tim, if you want more crits..... i think that the bump is a bit too much. On the ground it doesn't look natural. I would introduce some variation, maybe a slight different material for some arches. You could have some rocks lying on the ground, and maybe some more variation in the model of the arches, they seem too regular to me (there could also be some arch stones that are a bit brocken). Try maybe to have some variation in the arch texture when it approaches to the ground, the limit between arch and mud is still too clean.

well that's it :D

Cheers Olivier, just the type of feedback I can work with. :D

I'll work on these areas some more, thankyou.

macray, I had a thought that you might have meant the ivy, rather than the textures for the pillars. The ivy is a modified plant that came with 3DWorld magazine. I tweaked the original texture to give it a darker appearance.

A quick render with the car back in, this was rendered before certain aspects have been fixed, so forgive the errors. (Like most of the car material errors. ;) )
