I am not religious, but I don't think they were sitting like that in reality... looks too comfy.

It was very well thought-out, this method of torture. Rest your weight on the "seat" and your lungs are constricted so that you can't breath. Take your weight off the seat and increase the agony in your wrists and feet and use up your strength. Christ died of suffocation.

Suffocation is correct.
The sitting posture on that perpendicular post seems inaccurate.

For example an artist may choose to depict Moses having sort of a secret bachelor's party / orgy, as a means to quench his desires, up in the mountain for 40 days before inventing/drafting the new set of rules and then ruse the Israelites to believe a divene origine for that text (a benevolent ruse is often necessary to boost morale and instill discipline in the masses)

I was on CGTalk the other day responding to a thread on California and a tax they are putting on computer monitors. I expressed my opinion on what I though of the social policies of the state and my comments were censored by the moderator and I was warned that if I kept it up they would ban me. Don't think for a minute that they banned this for any other reason than this is a Christian subject.

I think this image is very powerful; it's a representation of Jesus that I've never seen before. I agree with the above comments, it needs to be dirtier than it is, with less muscle definition and a different sky.

perhaps you should put buddah up there and resubmit it to CGTalk then i bet they would take it


maybe if Christ were in a bottle of piss they would take that too, then its art not religion

as far as nudity, its obvious that would be the way to crucify someone, as its not about the death but the humiliation and pain before death. most people throw the cloth outta respect, but in all probability he was.
