Yeah most programs have a menu under edit preferences or something like that that allows for buttons to be mapped to functions. I would assume that is not something you would not have to ask for in 3d software these days.

That's a little scene with 2 spheres and a cyclo with an emitter... one layered material and a diffuse. You control the balance between layers with the Weight Map control in the Material Editor window. The sum total of material layers must not exceed 1.0 at this point.

Download and try it!

yes mike, it works. at least the preview does, if i could only render something out of the studio it would be great. just to check if it renders b/w or not.

no problem, adehus.. were you able to get it to render, both in preview and in mxcl?

One thing guys... check your environment variables... you want to make sure that in your MAXWELL_ROOT variable, your path is to "whatever"\Next Limit\Maxwell

But you want to add, additionally, "whatever"Next Limit\Maxwell\mxcl\ to the Path system variable.

tried it, it makes no difference.

adehus -

I've been a beta tester for some time now... putting in all the same hours you have been, but instead of complaining on the forum, I've been working to help in any way I can. We all know Maxwell's far from ready, it's also a powerhouse underneath there... and after their first night's sleep in a LONG time, the team's back at work tomorrow. For now, I'll try to help you guys in any way I can.

Does the Ctrl-P preview work for you?

_Mike
Mike,

Simple sphere out of Maya - had to triangulate to get a solid sphere. Here's what i get with a Ctrl-P preview.

Eric,
for navigation this is not the case in nearly all major 3D package I ever tried. A possitive exception is C4D but even here you can't remap ervery funktion Exactly to your linking.

mverta: Oh no, not the MAXWELL_ROOT thing that spoiled the beta release. You shouldn't have to poke about messing with such stuff in this day and age - this is like being back in the 80's.
