Illegal characters in material names stop render when materials are applied from source outside of materials library. Anything with a hyphen will stop the render. If I take the hyphen out and reapply the material, it will work as it should. Has anyone else run into this issue.

Also, changing a color of a material is not reflected in the render. Not a big deal. but it's pretty convenient within SketchUp.

All in all I think the plugin is working pretty well.

I'm having trouble with 90% of my library scenes, a lot of objects i have are making maxwell crash and SU too when i set it to export to maxwell. Lot of works i have i can not render because maxwell wont star and SU quits.

With textures any time i use an external .jpg as a bump map it wont work, any map for that matter, it just quits SU. I do not know the sourse of this bug. Materials imported into the SU library work fine, but no bumps fo now.

And yes all in all this plugin is really nice, it has got me working with maxwell again as i have the C4D plug but i do not like C4D. I love sketch up and maxwell.

It seems that materials applied form the library with illegal characters will work. Materials added to tthe library outside of the SketchUp library wil stop the render. Jusat fix the material name and that shouls work, It is a big hassle though, because, SketchUp users have not had to worry about struct naming conventions–until now that is.

Am I the only one that has to delete materials from out side the maimaterials folder and reapply them before Maxwell wil render?

There are 2 issues here really:

- MaxwellExport shouldn't crash if the texture file is not found - I have this fixed already, you will get it in the next plugin version (most likely by the end of this week).

- There are problems with texture paths on OSX (I saw it in other reports). I am working on this but so far I cannot promise that the fix will be included in the next version (I will try but it may take some more time).

Thanks for your patience.

It's not crashing when they are not found. It's just crashing when it encounters textures with illegal characters. And it seems that some of them work when the are applied from within the SketchUp materials folder. If they are imported from another source, they definitely won't work. Not a big deal except that I have to go back a re-materialize all the SketchUp models that I want to use with this set of circumstances.

All-in-all it's working very good. Bumps crash me, but maybe I'm not doing something right.
