Hello Bakbek,
could you share the settings?
I like to try it myself too.
Thanks in advance

I don’t think the emitter material working properly (alpha 3 & SU5). I have used “power” as units, so intensity would be Watts, right? It seems to me the lights are just much to dim.
Here is a small scene to demonstrate: two chairs, a table and a man in white a diffuse material lit by a 2*2*2mm emitter cube 2,5m above the floor. The emitter settings are: power, yes, D65, 5000(?), default camera settings and none in the environment option. My SU units are millimetres (also tested meters with no difference).
It’s really dark with 5000W, but in reality 50W should be enough. Could this be the default 1W?
I then tested some other settings, like 50 000W, but it seems the first emitter doesn’t change (tried both on object & face level). So I made another 5000(W?) emitter closer to the floor. (You can se the first emitter cube as a white dot above the table).

What did you do differently?

seems like a glowworm.
Someone got ants some gets glowworms.
I just test an interior scene with the same difficults.
From 50 to 5000 units. I would like to know how these settings are doing right.
Some questions:
How can i get lightcones by setting spotlights maybe 8 degree?
How can i change the lightcolors?

and...
BTW how could i load an image here? Not from the own folder?

Burkhard,
To make directional light you have to model the whole light source & reflector. I remember reading there was going to be IES light in Maxwell, so I assume there is something new in lighting in version 1,0 (?).
I don’t know what material would work best for the reflector but I have made a slightly parabolic reflector with plastic (wont work without ants now). Also just pushing a cone into the sealing and making the bottom your emitter works, but is inaccurate.
To make coloured light select “No” in “Use Type” in the emitter settings. The colour of your object is now the colour of your light.

Unfortunately you can not load images directly to this forum.
Go to http://www.imageshack.us/index.phpand upload your image there.
Copy the “Direct link to image” line and paste it in your message.
With that URL highlighted click on the “Img” button for adding the image tags around it.
You should se your image in the preview if you did it right…

I rendered my previus scene in Max with the same settings, and there it works as expected, so this is a skp2mxs issue.
