I have two MW licenses and have used MW very little in conjunction with FormZ. We used FormZ for both the modeling and renderings. I got so busy last year that I've not had time to get further into Maxwell, but have recently started to use Sketchup for conceptual architectural design. I was wondering what the general experience has been bringing SU 3D geometry into MW and/or the use of the MW plug-in inside Sketchup?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

very good experience. Initially though a bit time consuming to get good results but with the manual at hand you will get renders rather fast and of incredible quality. The combination SU/MW to me works very well and quick too. I feel I have invested my time well and are enjoying the results very much and getting payed for it.

different ways of doing it: i almost never touch studio and deal all the projects directly within SU... the long process is to create Maxwell materials and create their SU counterparts so the auto mxm is working flawless without thinking about it

most of my work is done in Studio after I import portions of the model made in SU. I work like this since some of my model are big and by importing models in small portions I have the added advantage to keep a fast and big model in MW that otherwise in SU would be terrible slow. I found Studio difficult to work with in the beginning but now I find it very easy. Strange, within a week or so I was wondering why anyone would hassle around in SU while there is such a great way to quickly do all in Studio and finetune materials as well. I will post some models and results later this year. My clients are government institutes that don't want their work on the web and recent work is done for a competition that I can not show yet either.
