OK, I've read Sheik's tutorial (thanks Sheik) but I'm still lost on the lighting. I made the red face a 1500W emitter and turned off the physical sky and my image is black. I changed the emitter up to 15000K and my emitter shows up and I can barely see the wall, but the image is essentially black. I played around with the camera settings but I can't figure it out. Has anyone figured out or is there a website somewhere that says how much wattage you need for outside light, or an office, or a dimly lit room, etc...? This would be a great thing to have in a tutorial.

I think the problem (in RC5) is that the Kelvin setting for emitters doesn’t work. Select No for Use Type in the Emitters popup.
RGB 255,255,241 SU colour gives D65 light.

I am not sure the power setting is "calibrated" yet. Lights seem less powerful than in real life. Power in Maxwell is emitted light energy, not consumed electricity, but it should be close to what it says on the light bulb.

Thanks Sheik! I did notice that I was using power and not intensity for the emitter units. I did have to bump the intensity up to 5000 to get any decent amount of light. I also applied the emitter settings to the downlight above. Then I set the ISO to 1000 and got a good light combination. I still feel like I'm trying to reinvent the wheel with these settings though.

That's what using Maxwell seems to be about: "reinventing the wheel."

We need a list of what works and what doesn't.

Is physical sky still the only setting that works in the RC5?
