Can someone explain the emitter material in the new SketchUp Mac plugin please. I have used it successfully in Lightwave, but it seems to keep crashing from SkecthUp.

Does the emitter material need to be a separate geometry?
Using the map option, do we still need to assign an .mxi file as an emitter? What do we map if not? Seems to crash when I assign an .mxi. When I assign an a material as an emitter material without mapping something to it then it is just black.

I confused obviously. Works fine with the Lightwave plugin. Can't get it to worth with the SketchUp mac version.

Well, that's answers that. Was this a surprise or was this known before it was released?

Everything else seems to be going pretty well, although some materials are stopping the render before it starts. They aren't pngs, so I don't know what the problem is.

the path to the image maps doesnt always get transfered in the export - not sure why but if you look at the dos window it will say which ones it cant find. go back to su and find that material in material editor and reasign the image file. It seems to work!
