My SU>Maxwell is now exporting everything by planes, not materials. Is this a bug or is it supposed to be doing this now? Is there a way to change it back?!?!

I just now tried to render a scene that has a terrain model... wow. a seperate object for every single triangle...

PLEASE PLEASE tell me I am missing something!!!

After some tests I've discovered how the plugin is exporting...

If you do not apply any materials then all planes are exported as one object.

If you apply materials then each plane that you apply a material to is exported as a seperate object,
UNLESS
you group some planes and then apply a material to them as a group - in which case you cannot control the tiling of the texture.

Is this intentional? This is not workable to people who want to use SketchUp and then tweak and add things in Studio. (It also really increases the time it takes to export models that have terrains or anything like that.) I was just getting used to the way it worked before and developing a workable workflow. This is really frustrating. Now I have to re-invent the way I manage my SU models.

Where can I DL the previous version of the plugin?

Oh - but there are positives to the new PlugIn... like the toolset and the work that has been done in terms of interface and integration. Thanks for that!

I've mentioned it in the other thread so just for the reference - this appears to be OSX related bug in the new texture folder functionality. The fix is being prepared already.

You can send your email address to me via PM if you want to be updated as soon as the fix is available...
