hi all,
solved finally the automxm issue...
but i have another problem: when exporting, often, maxwell cannot find a some textures from the SU library.. it says in the console texture XYZ not found.... problem is i cannot identify wich object is using the texture in SU..

Is there anyway to find all missing textures... console cannot find the path to the texture, which is also a weird path
example: C:\Program Files\@Last Software\SketchUp 4\Materials\\Stone-masonry.jpg

why is it looking for a SU 4 texture??? How can i find a way to reassign all pathes to the SU 5..

thnx :)

Mate open the MXED for the materials you are using and use the image picker to upload the right link, or

Open MX studio and drag your MXM's you are using one at a time into the materials list any broken links will then if any have broken links you will be asked and given the opportunity to find them. Then save the MXM's that are the probelm back out and export from SU again.

well i reinstalled plug in and maxwell after backupping all materials. I reinitialized all SU materials, and recreated them one by one..( creating all SU with Mxm counterparts bearing the same name)

Richard: thnx the prob is not MXM not finding their materials, its maxwell not finding a simple SU image to process raw from SU. (those who are not related to a mxm such as textures from imported components ( furniture etc..)... in that case i cannot open each component one by one to see if SU has the texture .jpg stored allright... so when i render, mxm says some textures are missing. What i would like to do is to make sure everything i do in SU has its texture stored where MR can find them...then auto mxm is going to be soo cool to use flawlessly! ( its already so great to be able to render like that from scratch from Su, just apply SU materials and see them render using their mxm's!)

Ok I get you now, if you open the scene in studio you would be able to check all materials. Remember they still become MXMs on export! Then save the scene and double click the file to start the render.

I know this is a work around for those that wish to export straight from SU but mate I've just got to say like you I was scared of studio. If you close the objects properties, projectors wondows etc (the things you just dont want to touch) there is little to be scared of and much accessiblity to be gained. The big plus is studios ability to deals with navigating huge file where SU would just bog down.

The ability to preview a scene before rendering is a massive assistance and can save heaps of time waiting for a render to launch and render to a point you can see its worth letting run.

I too had hoped to run all renders straight from SU but given the issues yet to be resolved and I decided to explore studio and mate I've got to say there really is nothing to be shy of.

You will find when you open a scene in studio an object is just a group of all geometry painted with the same material and thereafter it is just a case of selecting the object (similarly painted geometry) and dragging the MXM onto it either in the viewport window or the object in the object list.

I must say I harp on this over and over when I try to assist others but feel I must as studio has so many added features, sure some are still buggy but I fiund it takes about an hour to get familiar with the interface and thereafter makes life SO EASY! And must say you would be having none of the issues you are currently encountering!

ok thanks for explaining. actually I do copy the T[…]
