hello,

I´m using SU since the version 3.
now with MR, it's a great combination.
but I´ve got one problem:
who can I make a picture to an emitter ?
I want an lighteffect like a TV or a backlighted-wall.

any idea ?

its not really possble with rc5....it would be an hdri image, or mxi in maxwell speak....i'm not really sure how this is accomplished in sketchup in the first place though... anyone?

You can turn a bitmap to mxi format by opening it in the Maxwell Viewer, then give it intensity and save as mxi. That mxi can then be assigned as an emitter in SU (pick emitter map). But as said it doesn’t work in RC5 (It did work in beta).

thanx for the answers,

okay, that way doesn't work, but an other way could be to make the texture (bmp) transparent. I can pick the bmp as a map, so that it will be rendered, but I can't make it transparent.
someone here who will find it?

Stephan,

Why are you wasting time with rc5. MXI emitters work fine in V1.0.
Getting them to map correctly requires some effort though.
