Hi
I've been using MXS references more and more, because it is much quicker in terms of workflow.
As an architectual visualizer, I use them mostly for complex projects with a lot of buildings, but also for environment objects like trees and cars. Quite often, I need to hide those (especially the trees) from camera to replace them in photoshop with a real tree. When working with MXS references, I also have to modify the original reference.
Couldn't it be possible to hide the whole MXS reference from camera? Or am I missing this feature somehow?
That would be extremely helpful.
Best,
Christoph

you are right! too bad that does not exist in the rhino plugin - but I'll write to Jeremy, maybe he can implement it.
I've had one post a few month ago, asking for custom alpha's inside of mxs references. Would that be possible at one point?

I'm pretty sure that will be possible.

Just a question though about your usage case, you put the references but hide to camera so you can get the shadow on the ground? Just wondering :)

sounds great.

yeah, I render the whole scene with all the trees hidden to camera. So I get good tree shadows on the ground and reflections in the windows, but can replace the trees with better looking ones. why do you ask?
the shadow channel does not work out very well for that.
